In 2024, Masan Consumer has transitioned 65% of its total energy consumption to renewable sources, while reducing Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 18% compared to the 2023 baseline. Solar power projects have been implemented at manufacturing sites, 100% of diesel forklifts have been replaced with electric ones, and over 80% of waste is treated or recycled. These actions underscore the company’s steadfast commitment to “green growth” and its long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality.
Alongside emission reduction, Masan Consumer is pioneering circular economy packaging, prioritizing eco-friendly materials and reducing plastic waste. The company also optimized weight of plastic preforms for bottle products and expanded the use of recycled PET (rPET) - maintaining product quality and logistics efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
Additionally, the company identified that 70% of its pellets utilized polyethylene (PE) film for packaging. In 2024, Masan Consumer eliminated the use of PE film for pellet wrapping, resulting in a reduction of plastic waste equivalent to 21,853 kilograms. This initiative helped Masan Consumer reduce its emissions by an amount equivalent to 129.15 tons of CO2.
Another cornerstone of Masan Consumer’s sustainable development lies in its internationally certified production system. All 13 factories are certified under key global standards for safety, environment, and energy management, including FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14064.
