From Meo Vac To Every Corner Of Vietnam: WinCommerce’s Ambition To Serve 100 Million Vietnamese Consumers

The opening of WinCommerce’s 5000th WinMart+ store in Meo Vac is more than a milestone in network expansion. It marks another chapter in the company’s long-term journey to modernize Vietnam’s retail infrastructure, bringing a modern lifestyle and quality retail experiences closer to consumers across Vietnam - from major cities to some of the nation’s most remote communities.

From network expansion to building Vietnam’s consumer infrastructure

On June 18, 2026, WinCommerce officially surpassed 5,000 stores nationwide with the opening of its 5,000th WinMart+ store in Meo Vac, Ha Giang Province. The milestone represents not only the continued expansion of the company's retail footprint, but also a significant step forward in the modernization of Vietnam's retail infrastructure.

When Masan acquired VinCommerce at the end of 2019, the network comprised approximately 2,500 stores. Today, it has grown to more than 5,000 locations nationwide, reflecting nearly seven years of continuous expansion and investment in building a modern retail platform.

Importantly, this growth has not been limited to Vietnam's major urban centers. During the first five months of 2026, WinCommerce added 464 net new stores, including 374 rural WinMart+ locations, which accounted for 81% of total net new openings. Northern and Central Vietnam remained the primary growth markets, with 339 and 119 new stores opened, respectively.

These figures underscore WinCommerce's consistent strategy of expanding access to quality products, transparent product sourcing, and an increasingly modern shopping experience for consumers across the country.

For WinCommerce, expanding its retail network is about more than growth. Every new store represents a commitment to bringing quality products, trusted origins, and modern retail services closer to consumers. It is also a way of gradually building trust in communities where organized retail remains relatively new.

The decision to locate the 5,000th store in Meo Vac carries particular significance. According to Nguyen Thi Phuong, Chief Executive Officer of WinCommerce, Meo Vac was chosen not because it is the easiest place to expand, but because it is "where we are needed most."

5,000 stores and the vision of modernizing everyday life in Vietnam

From a business perspective, the 5,000-store milestone is the result of a disciplined restructuring and sustained growth journey.

Having evolved from a business primarily focused on operational restructuring and improving efficiency, WinCommerce has become Vietnam's largest modern retail platform, operating more than 5,000 stores and serving millions of customer visits each day. Revenue for the first five months of 2026 reached VND 18,911 billion, an increase of 28.7% year-on-year, exceeding the company's full-year growth target and positioning it for a third consecutive quarter of revenue growth above 25%.

For WinCommerce, however, the significance of 5,000 stores extends well beyond scale.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 5000th store, company leadership emphasized that WinCommerce is not simply pursuing store expansion. Its broader ambition is to bring a modern lifestyle to more than 100 million Vietnamese people, from Ha Giang in the north to Ca Mau in the south, from major cities to remote villages across the country.

Every WinMart+ store is more than a retail outlet. It provides local consumers with access to trusted products, transparent sourcing, essential goods at affordable prices, and increasingly modern services. In many communities, particularly outside urban centers, WinMart+ is becoming an integral part of the local consumer infrastructure.

Vietnam's Domestic Market Development Strategy for 2030–2050 identifies the modernization of the country's distribution system and commercial infrastructure as a national priority. Against this backdrop, the continued expansion of modern retail networks such as WinMart carries significance beyond commercial success, contributing to the modernization of consumer markets and supporting improvements in quality of life across the country.

More broadly, the journey from 2,500 to 5,000 stores is not simply a story of network expansion. It is the story of building a retail platform large enough to connect millions of consumers, thousands of suppliers, and tens of thousands of employees across Vietnam.

And while 500 stores marks an important milestone, WinCommerce views it as only the beginning of a much larger journey. As the company’s leadership has emphasized, its bigger goal is not the number of stores it operates, but its commitment to bringing a modern lifestyle closer to every Vietnamese family, from major cities to the country’s most remote regions. Ultimately, what WinCommerce is building is more than a retail network. It is the belief that wherever people live across Vietnam, they deserve better products, better services, and a better quality of everyday life.
